Required Word Counts

Please ensure that your manuscript follows the word count requirements specific to your publication format:

• Book Chapter: Minimum 10,000 words

• Encyclopedia Article: Minimum 7,000 words

• Journal Article: Minimum 5,000 words

Books

All manuscripts must:

• Be in scope of the book.

• Be submitted in Microsoft® Word.

• Be typewritten in English.

Manuscript Checklist

• Originality of Manuscripts: Only original submissions will be accepted for publication. Manuscripts may not have been previously published or be submitted for publication elsewhere. Revised manuscripts are not accepted unless they consist of at least 80% new material with no more than 200 consecutive words (properly cited) repeated verbatim from any previously published work.

• Copyright: As part of the manuscript submission process, authors must sign the Author’s Warranty and Transfer of Copyright Agreement digitally. Note that PDF copyright agreements are no longer accepted.

• Peer Review: All submissions must undergo a double-anonymized review process before being accepted for publication. Authors of book chapters are also expected to serve as reviewers for 2-3 other chapters.

• General Formatting: Please format your manuscript according to APA 7th edition guidelines.

• Titles: Titles should be no longer than 100 characters. If subtitles are included, they should be no longer than 50 characters. Titles must be entered in title case and should not be written in all capital letters.

• Abstract: Every chapter should include an abstract of 100-150 words that provides an overview of the chapter. Please write abstracts in third person.

• Headings: Format all headings to match APA 7th edition guidelines.

• Images: All submitted images must follow the requirements outlined in the Image Formatting Guidelines. Figures must be submitted as separate files in .tif format. It is the author's responsibility to obtain permission to use any image under copyright by a third party.

• Figure Captions and Callouts: All images must be accompanied by captions and be called out in the text to guide readers. Figures should be numbered sequentially throughout the manuscript.

• Tables: All tables must include captions and be numbered sequentially. They must also be called out in the body of the manuscript.

• Equations: If a symbol or equation can be typed directly into Microsoft Word, please do so. Otherwise, use MathType to format all equations.

• APA Citations: Ensure all information from other sources is substantiated with an in-text reference citation following APA guidelines.

• Key Terms and Definitions (for book chapters): Include 7+ key terms and definitions at the end of the paper, written in your own words.

• Teaching Notes: For case studies, provide supplemental teaching notes as a separate document from your manuscript.

What LitVerse Chronicles Does Not Accept

• Simultaneous Submissions: Manuscripts may not be submitted to multiple publications simultaneously.

• Plagiarism: All manuscripts are checked for plagiarism before acceptance. Proper citation is required, and thoughts should be original. Instances of plagiarism will lead to rejection.

• LaTeX Files: LaTeX files are not accepted as they are incompatible with our typesetting program. Use MathType for equations instead.

Encyclopedias

All manuscripts must:

• Be in scope of the book.

• Be submitted in Microsoft® Word.

• Be typewritten in English.

Journals

All manuscripts must:

• Be in scope of the journal.

• Be submitted in Microsoft® Word.

• Be typewritten in English.

• Originality of Manuscripts: Only original submissions will be accepted for publication.

• Peer Review: Submissions must undergo a double-anonymized review process. Authors may be expected to serve as reviewers to ensure quality.

• General Formatting: Follow APA 7th edition guidelines.

• Titles, Abstract, Headings, Images, Tables, Equations, and Citations: Follow the same guidelines as detailed for books above.

• Competing Interests and Funding Statements: Authors must include a competing interests statement and, if applicable, funding information in the following format:

  • "This research was supported by [Organization Name] [grant number]."

  • "The authors declare there are no competing interests."
